Welcome to Liquid Bloom :: Music for Inner Trance, Meditation & Sound Healing.
Release Date APRIL 21st, 2017
Amani Friend and Rara Avis, of popular psy-trance collective Desert Dwellers, collaborated with such artists as Native American flute maestro Robert Mirabal and vocalist Sarah West, composing a multi-layered mosaic that includes overtone chanting, ethereal singing, shamanic invocations and natural atmospheres. In 2012, Amani met sacred performance artist Ixchel Prisma, and over the next two years they created the album Heart of the Shamans – utilizing the finely tuned arrangements of The Face of Love as the primary foundation for Ixchel’s ceremonial medicine songs.
Following this year’s release of Heart of the Shamans, here is the original version of The Face of Love, combining its enchanting musical palette with poetic healing guidance and body postures for each track’s corresponding chakra. Each phase of this cycle is a mirror for our soul, unfolding unique, spontaneous, ever-changing visions and insights.
Shaman’s Eye is a unique collaboration between Amani Friend and Bente darma Friend with guest artists including Native American music legend Robert Mirabal with his Taos flutes and chant, vocalist Ixchel Prrisma, ethereal singer Sarah West and overtone singer Rara Avis.
In the true spirit of musical alchemy, Amani blends his technical skills with his innate understanding of the power of sound and vibration to heal and transform. With deep reverence, he weaves the strands of pan-global percussive and melodic expressions, sacred chants, and the atmospheres of nature around the steady heartbeat of trance to inspire inner journeys.
Bente Darma's background in the healing arts includes the creative use of ecstatic trance to enrich one's daily life. Her inherent gift for guiding others to connect with their own deep wisdom and inner power blends the invisible worlds with the visible. Inspired by her work this sensual music was created to transport us into the mystical and magical realms residing within us all, and to attain the Shante Ishta--our own inner eye of compassionate vision.
About the Founder: Amani Friend is a pioneering producer of world fusion, electronica, and dub music, having spent the past 25 years exploring these genres. As one of the primary driving forces and founder of the Desert Dwellers and Liquid Bloom projects, Amani tastefully weaves soundscapes that immerse the listener in a journey to inner spaces and otherworldly sonic dimensions. He has produced a prolific catalog of trail blazing albums for numerous labels, remixed some of the biggest names in the electronic downtempo and yoga scenes, and played at some of the most prominent festivals around the world. Aside from music production, Amani is also known as a digital visionary artist & graphic designer.
Liquid Bloom is an intentional sound healing project produced by Amani Friend (of Desert Dwellers). This music is designed to support ceremonial trance states of awakening, weaving powerful vocals and instrumentation from around the world into a layered-multidimensional sonic tapestry. Some of the artists and auditory alchemists that collaborate on this project along with Amani are Ixchel Prrisma, Rara Avis, Robert Mirabal, Sarah West, and Aum Prakash.
This music has diverse applications from simply unwinding from stressful situations to purposeful inner journeying or trance dancing; from enhancing bodywork, meditation or yoga to inspiring one's creativity. Inner visions may or may not appear. Inner knowing or deep insights may surface. Or we may just simply feel a renewed lightness of spirit, clarity and joy.
